The property has miraculously survived two fires, the Crystal Fire in April 2011 and the famous High Park Fire in June 2012.  Thanks to the heroic efforts of firefighters our property was spared and our hearts go out to our wonderful neighbors that were not so fortunate as we were.  Fire danger is always on our minds as we have witnessed the devastation first hand.  

           

 

The images below were captured by game cameras located on our property.  They show the flames advance over the ridge fueled by 60 mph winds.  The forest service used our footage to study how the Crystal Mountain Fired advanced at such a rapid and devastating rate.
