The Seasons of Moondance

Elk grazing near the creek – July 2013

Summer brings an abundance of life to Moondance; Fish Creek is bubbling and the “doggie park” is open for the dogs’ amusement. The roadsides and fields are carpeted with wildflowers from April until late September. We also welcome a variety of baby animals to the property.

Golden aspen leaves, cool nights, and the occasional bugling of elk signals that fall’s arrived in the high country.  This time of year is the start of the hunting season, which means lots of activity and visitors to Moondance.

Winter weather brings both beauty and challenges.  The rough roads can make access difficult but it does not seem to stop Mike from getting in there despite the conditions.  We have even resorted to snowshoes to hike in and enjoy the snow.
